This fun-filled day is designed to make students feel like superstars as they showcase their skills, win awards, and celebrate their success with family and friends.

Families can cheer them on and explore our vendor village, filled with free giveaways and swag—making the day even more exciting!

Event Details

Participants: Students across the Inland Empire
​Time: 8:00 AM and ends promptly at 11:00 AM
​Date: December 15, 2024
Location: Toyota Arena

RoboPalooza TimeLine 

  • 8:00am: Doors Open
  • 9:00am: Opening Ceremony / Challenge Videos
  • 9:30am: RoboPalooza Start
  • 11:30am: RoboPalooza End
  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm:  Clean-Up and Exit Pick Up Awards.
  • 1:00pm: Kid Fest / Entry Begins For Game

Challenge Rules

Challenges:
     - Students will be given three challenges to complete.
     - Challenges are pass/fail and will be revealed on the day of the event.
     - Teams can complete challenges in any order they choose.

Time Limit:
     - Teams will have a total of two hours to complete as many challenges as possible.

Ranking & Medals:
     - Each successfully completed challenge will allow students to rank up toward higher medal tiers:​

Teamwork and Support Rules:

Team Formation:
     - Students will compete as individual teams within their school groups.

School Team Support:
     - Students can assist other teams within their own school only.
     - Assistance must be verbal only—no physical interaction with another team’s robot or laptop is allowed.

Robot, Coding, & Equipment Rules:

Robot & Laptop:
     - Each team must bring their own laptop, robot, and download cables to the event.

Code Requirements:
     - All teams must create their own code from scratch.
     - Teams may not upload pre-written code from other teams.

Testing and Pit Area:
     - Each team will have a designated pit area and test table directly behind them.
     - Teams will take turns at their assigned competition table.

Coach and Outside Assistance:
- Teams must work independently, without assistance from coaches or mentors.
​ - All code and problem-solving should be completed solely by the student teams.

Judging and Scoring Rules:

Judging:
     - A designated judge will be assigned to each table.
     - Judges will use flags to indicate outcomes:

Green Flag: Mission completed successfull
Red Flag: Mission failed.

Scoring:
     - Complete missions within the two-hour time limit to qualify for tier levels.
     - All missions to be solved autonomously meaning once a robot is launched from a designated start area it must complete the mission without human intervention.​

Awards and Recognition:

Medal Tiers:
​     - 
Teams earn medals based on the highest tier they reach
(Gold🥇, Silver🥈, or Bronze🥉).

Special Awards:
     - School Award for Most Gold Medals
     - School Award for Best School Spirit
     - Individual Team Award for Best Sportsmanship
     - Individual Team Award for Fastest Completion of All Three Missions

Closing Ceremony:
- At the end of the event, all teams will be recognized at center ice, based on the tier level they reached.
​ - A group photo will be taken at the conclusion of the ceremony.

How does a WRO season work?

  • The WRO season follows this structured competition schedule:
  • Regional Championship: Ontario, CA, April 18th - 19th, 2025
  • WRO-USA National Championships: Ontario, CA, July 18th - 20th, 2025
  • SumoBot National Championships: Ontario, CA, July 18th - 20th, 2025
  • WRO-USA Open: Dekalb, Illinois, August 1st - 3rd, 2025
  • Open Championship: Europe Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 2nd - 5th, 2025
  • Open Championship: Asia & Pacific Manila, Philippines, September 19th - 21st, 2025
  • Open Championship: Americas Panama City, Panama, October 19th - 21st, 2025
  • Open Championship: Middle East & North Africa Jubail, Saudi Arabia, October 23rd - 25th, 2025
  • International Final: Singapore, November 26th - 28th, 2025

How do I register a team for the competition?

  • Registration for a WRO season is open from **November to mid-March** via our online system: WRO Registration.
  • When registering a team, you must select the **competition category and age group**.
  • After purchasing, you will receive a link to enter **student and guardian details**.
  • A **signed data protection form** is required when submitting team member details.

Do I need my own robot? Where can I get one?

  • Yes, teams must bring their own robot. You can purchase a robot from our store.
  • The type of robot depends on the competition category you are entering.
  • All robot systems are allowed, but each category has specific size, weight, and sensor rules.

How much does it cost to participate in WRO?

  • Each team is charged a registration fee to cover:
  • Materials for competitions (e.g., playing field mats)
  • Materials for teams (e.g., trophies and certificates)
  • Public relations (e.g., flyers, posters, marketing)
  • Employees, office, and storage costs
  • For teams qualifying for international competitions, an additional fee applies.

Move-in Date and Time

  • Regionals: April 18th from **10 AM - 4 PM** OR April 19th from **7 AM - 9 AM**
  • Nationals: July 18th from **10 AM - 4 PM**

How many booths are available for exhibitors?

  • Regionals: Up to **15** 10x10 booths can fit.
  • Nationals: More space is available in **Exhibit Hall B**, allowing for **double the booths**.

Is parking included for exhibitors?

  • Yes, exhibitors receive **one parking pass**. Additional passes can be requested.

Will there be WiFi and electricity?

  • Yes, **WiFi** and **electricity** will be available.
