A TRULY GLOBAL ROBOTICS COMPETITION
DEDICATED TO SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION.
Our mission is to help young people develop their creativity and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way. We do this by organizing robotics competitions in four different categories for students aged 8-19 years across the globe.
WRO® tournaments are organized in over 85 countries worldwide.
WRO-USA Provides Coaches and Parents With Video Walkthroughs, Zoom Coaching Clinics, And A What's App Group To Help Any Parent Or Coach Have A Minimum Level Of Success When Starting Out! We Understand Coaching Can Be Nerve Racking Which Is Why We Provide Help So You Can Learn How To Coach Robotics Along With Your Team.
The key to getting better at something is repetition and robotics is no different. Because competitions are easy to run tournaments are offered all year long by our directors. This will allow your child to improve rapidly and gain confidence. Check back often for Local, Regional, and National Events Near You!
Many other competitions require a highly skilled technical coding coach for a kids to compete. Success is highly dependent on the coaches skill level. Our competitions are designed so any parent can help their child build a robot and be successful in competitions. WRO-USA provides every team with a basic build, recorded, and live coaching sessions to ensure a minimum level of success at any tournament.

Hi I Am Derrick! I am The CEO of USEL and The National Organizer for World Robot Olympiad™ USA. I also had similar feelings about not knowing much about robotics when I started coaching. Before I started coaching robotics, I owned a business teaching kids how to do hands on science projects. I had purchased some LEGO EV3 Robot Kits in 2014 as a way to attract more kids to our summer camps. Needless to say I didn't use them much.
About a year after starting our business my son had told me he seen Robotics Competitions and wanted to try one out with his friend. He asked me to coach them using our Robot Kits and I reluctantly agreed. We practiced for a week before the competition and because I didn't know too much about robotics so I wasn't really much help for my son and his friend. We ended up in last place but, after seeing the event in person I learned two things:
1. If we had practiced a little more we could have probably advanced to the next round of competition, it wasn't that hard.
2. Being an ex football coach I couldn't believe schools didn't offer this more to students, it was the best of education and sports all rolled into one!
Needless to say I was hooked. Over the years I met other coaches who taught me techniques to get better, watched hundreds of YouTube Clips and coached teams that have competed in many tournaments. Over the years I have coached teams that have won many regional championships, national championships, and even represented the USA in WRO International Finals.
Now As National Organizer I want you to have that same experience. Being a coach is amazing and you really just need to be willing to learn and be patient. Anyone can be a coach and as a parent there is no better feeling than being the one to mentor my own child in the field of Robotics. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars on coaching or have a background in engineering to get your child excited about robotics. Register your child today and start practicing. Don't worry we will help you along the way. I promise you and your child will have an amazing experience! I will See you at nationals!
