Whether your school is a USEL school partner or your team is an independent club, there's a defined route from your first event to the international stage.
School Pathway
For USEL school partners only (Turnkey or Self-Run)
- Your school or district joins the USEL School Partnership Program through the Turnkey Program (USEL runs the program for the school) or the Self-Run School Program (the school runs the program itself).
- Teams compete at USEL school partner qualifying events, such as District Championships, using the official USEL robot build.
- Top teams advance to the USEL School National Championship.
- Qualified teams compete at the WRO International Final or the WRO Americas Open Championship.
Affiliate Pathway
Open to clubs, community programs, homeschool groups, independent family teams, and schools that are not USEL school partners
- Get your equipment from the USEL Store, then register for events directly with the USEL affiliates who host them.
- Compete in the USEL Affiliate Cup, Regional Open Qualifiers, or both — the two run in parallel.
- The Affiliate Cup awards International Finals spots; Regional Open Qualifiers award Americas Open Championship spots.
- Advance to the WRO International Finals or the Americas Open Championship.
Both pathways lead to the same international stage. A team that qualifies through either pathway is an equal, official member of the USA National Robotics Team.
Qualifying teams choose one championship — teams may not attend both the WRO International Finals and the Americas Open Championship.Follow Along on YouTube
