General Event Timeline

  • Friday (5pm - 8:00pm): Open Practice session – Get familiar with the venue and fine-tune your robots.
  • Saturday (8am - 5:30pm): Competition Day 1 – Kick off the initial rounds and challenges.
  • Sunday (8am - 5:30pm): Competition Day 2 – Final rounds and the conclusion of the event.

*Competitors should arrange for flights departing after 5pm on Sunday*
Teams that leave early and miss the awards ceremony will forfeit their invitation to join the USA National Robotics Team, even if they qualify.

USA National Robotics Team - Singapore

How do teams qualify for the USA National Robotics Team?

To qualify for the USA National Robotics Team, your team must secure the top seeding in your respective category at the US Nationals Tournament. This is a critical requirement, as Nationals is the only event that offers a pathway to represent the USA National Robotics Team and compete in Singapore. By achieving top seeding, your team demonstrates not only technical excellence and innovation but also exceptional teamwork and strategic execution. This accomplishment is the sole route to earn a coveted position on the USA National Robotics Team, so preparation and a relentless drive for excellence are essential.

How to Join the USA National Robotics Team Robotics

To join the USA National Robotics Team for the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International events, participants must meet eligibility criteria, compete in designated qualifying events, and achieve top rankings.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizenship:Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States for at least 24 months prior to the qualification event or nomination.
  • Registration:Must have active National Registration before competing.
  • Affiliated Participation:Compete in qualifying events managed by recognized organizations.
  • Age Group Compliance:Must meet the WRO rules for the appropriate age group

🌎International Finals

  • Pathway to Finals: Teams must achieve a top 3 spot in their category and age group at nationals.
  • National Scores: Teams need to meet the WRO-USA score thresholds.
  • Team Structure: Teams must have at least 2 members and one unique adult representative (coach).
  • Travel Requirements: Coaches must accompany teams to international events.
  • Note: Qualification spots vary by category as allocated by the WRO Association. Refer to event-specific details for more information.

  • Requirements to Qualify: Teams must:
  • Compete in USEL/WRO-USA-sanctioned events.
  • Meet event-specific standards.
  • Achieve a national ranking.
  • Earn top placements.

📝Nominations

  • For OPEN Events: Teams nominated by affiliates must: 
  • Place in the Top 10 of a qualifying USEL/WRO-USA event within the last 12 months.
  • Meet all other eligibility requirements.
  • Be approved by the National Organization of WRO-USA (USEL Youth Robotics).
